ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ ΣΗΜΕΙΩΜΑ Δρ. ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟY ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ

Ο Κωνσταντίνος Χρίστου είναι καθηγητής της διδακτικής των μαθηματικών και πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Επιστημών της Αγωγής του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Διετέλεσε αντιπρόεδρος του Τμήματος Επιστημών της Αγωγής και Αναπληρωτής Κοσμήτορας της Σχολής Κοινωνικών Επιστημών και Επιστημών της Αγωγής. Είναι αντιπρόεδρος του ΚΥ.Σ.Α.Τ. Σ και μέλος της μέλος του Συμβουλίου Μέσης και Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης για την εκπαιδευτική μεταρρύθμιση. Έχει δημοσιεύσει πέραν των 120 άρθρων σε διεθνή περιοδικά και σε πρακτικά διεθνών συνεδρίων και συμμετείχε στη συγγραφή επτά βιβλίων και μονογραφιών. Είναι εκδότης του επιστημονικού περιοδικού "Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics Education", μέλος εκδοτικών επιτροπών διεθνών επιστημονικών περιοδικών και κριτής άρθρων σε διεθνή περιοδικά και σε συνέδρια της διδακτικής των μαθηματικών. Παράλληλα, συντονίζει ή συμμετέχει σε πολλά ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά προγράμματα που έχουν σχέση με τη διδακτική των μαθηματικών. Τα ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντά του τα τελευταία χρόνια αφορούν τη γνωστική ανάπτυξη των μαθηματικών εννοιών και την ενσωμάτωση της σύγχρονης τεχνολογίας στη διδασκαλία των μαθηματικών όλων των βαθμίδων.

Curriculum Vitae of Dr Constantinos Christou

Dr Constantinos Christou is professor in Mathematics Education at the University of Cyprus. He is Chairman of the Department of Education and a member of the University of Cyprus senate. In the past, he has served as deputy chairman of the department of Education and Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Education Sciences and Business at the University of Cyprus, and as a member of the University of Cyprus Council and Senate. He is the deputy chairman of Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (KY.S.A.T.S) and a member of the Council of Secondary and Primary Education for the reform of the educational system of Cyprus.
He published more than 120 articles in international journals and conference proceedings. He is the editor of the journal "Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics Education", and member of the editorial board in different International Journals in Mathematics Education. He coordinates or participates in European research programs. His main research interests are the cognitive development of mathematical concepts and the integration of computers in mathematics teaching and learning.
