
The Department of Higher and Tertiary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture organises, in collaboration with the European Commission, a Conference titled
"Lifelong Learning: Realities, Challenges and Prospects in Cyprus and in the European Union."
The Conference is organised within the European Program "SOCRATES - Accompanying Measures" and for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Higher and Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Conference will take place on April 16th - 17th, at the Research Centre of the Kykkos Holy Monastery (Archaggelos), Nicosia.
The aim of the Conference is to raise the awareness of educational staff and of all Cypriots that Lifelong Learning is considered to be of high priority on the agenda of the European Union and is viewed as essential for economic and social success. In this context the Conference aims at presenting and evaluating the existing Lifelong Learning Programmes in Cyprus and the European Union, examining new ways of promoting and facilitating access to Lifelong Learning, and contributing to the development of a new National Action Programme on Lifelong Learning.
